Endorsements for Modern Economic Regulation
Russell Pittman
“Modern Economic Regulation was already the best and most comprehensive economics of regulation text on the market, and now, with the addition of chapters on the regulation of payment systems, digital platforms, railways and aviation, as well as the interaction between behavioural economics and regulation, it is even better!”
Christos Genakos
“This is a fantastic textbook on modern economic regulation that beautifully integrates theory and practice like no other book on the market right now, plus it provides a great coverage of the structure and evolution of institutions in a number of key regulated industries.”
Martin Cave
“Chris Decker’s new book/edition is an invaluable up-to-date analysis and review of the regulation of network industries. It contains a sophisticated treatment of more general or theoretical issues concerning regulation, including the key issue of institutional form.”
Ingo Vogelsang
“This is the first comprehensive book on economic regulation in two decades. It beautifully covers all issues… for an extensive economics course on regulation. The industry chapters provide great insights into the problems of and differences between regulated industries. From beginning to end the book has been delightful reading.”
David Cousins AM
“A must-read for students and practitioners of economic regulation. This book provides an excellent overview of the extensive literature covering the theory and practice of modern economic regulation of public utilities. It is written in a style which will be readily accessible to those new to the area. It highlights lessons learnt particularly from the experience of major economies which have introduced restructuring reforms.”
